Defined Benefit pension schemes (also known as Final Salary pension schemes) are a form of pension that is offered by employers. The main feature is that such a scheme offers you a guaranteed income for life when you retire that is based on a proportion of your ‘final salary’ that you were earning before you retired, and normally increases in payment.
